TYPA is a print and paper centre in Tartu, we offer a both an educational program dedicated to paper and printmaking for artists, students and beginners who would like to try something new. We can offer an introduction to letterpress printing, a wide range of printmaking practices (etching, relief, screen-print and more), dark-room photography and bookbinding. Our mission is to provide the resources, inspiration, and space to a community of artists within the city. Through these means we hope to promote the innovative and inclusive act of printmaking and graphic arts. 

To start using the Print Studio open-access facilities you will need to do the following:

  • Choose from one of our membership options below.  
  • Book your Induction. This induction is compulsory for all new studio members and is charged at 8.00 €. Your Induction will take approximately 1 hour. 

The studio’s opening hours are Monday – Sunday from 10.30am – 5.30pm.

Studio Rental:

Associate Membership – 11 € per month

(Minimum of three months)
Includes: 

Participation in Annual Group Exhibition

10% discount on any workshop/ courses offered

Updates on exhibitions and opportunities

Participation in print exchange, mailing work together to international exhibitions

Reduced rate on hourly studio access

 

Full Studio Access – 55 € per month

(Minimum of three months)
Includes:

Monday – Sunday access to the studio 

Storage space for inks and screens

All features of associate membership

 

Student Studio Access – 35 € per month

No minimum
Includes:

Tuesday + Wednesday access to the studio 

Storage space for inks and screens

All features of associate membership

 

Extra costs:

Unlimited Monthly Ink   6 € per month
One off induction to studio   8 €**
Technical Support   8 € per hour

**Those without printmaking experience must attend a training for €50 or must attend a course at TYPA.
